CornerStone TTS is a leading technology organization seeking a dedicated QA Analyst to join our dynamic software development team. Our team of 19 professionals is focused on implementing and testing real-time, messaging-centric safety systems. We specialize in developing and testing server and client .NET applications, ASP.NET websites, and embedded Linux software.
Role Overview:
Under the guidance of the QA Manager, the QA Analyst will play a critical role in ensuring software quality through test design, execution, and troubleshooting. This role primarily involves manual testing at the user interface level in a fast-paced, technically complex environment.
The ideal candidate thrives on collaboration, supports multiple testing environments, and is comfortable working onsite to manage and test lab equipment. A limited hybrid schedule (one remote day per week) may be available after a six-month ramp-up period, contingent on demonstrated competence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute tests to enhance software quality.
- Troubleshoot software and hardware issues, including log analysis for errors and message flows.
- Monitor and maintain lab infrastructure.
- Manage software configurations and testing environments (QA, labs, production).
- Document processes, testing outcomes, and QA improvements.
- Adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
- Perform physical activities such as lifting up to 30 lbs., distinguishing colors, and using hand tools.
Technical Qualifications
Experience
- Extensive Background in Software Testing:
- 7+ years in progressively advanced software testing roles.
- 5+ years specializing in manual test case development and execution for desktop applications and websites.
Core Skills
- Test Management Expertise: Proficient in Azure DevOps pipelines, including test plans, test suites, test cases, and defect tracking.
- Configuration Management Knowledge: Familiar with activities and terminology such as trunk/main and branch workflows.
- Strong Professional Skills: Advanced organizational, communication, and time management capabilities.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Advanced user of MS Word and Excel.
- 1-2 years of experience in SQL for data management and validation.
Abilities
- Troubleshooting Mastery: Skilled in diagnosing and resolving software and hardware issues, including log analysis and message flow investigation.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Effective in medium-documentation, high-productivity environments, fostering team support and knowledge sharing.
- Process Improvement Advocate: Proactive in identifying and implementing enhancements to QA processes.
- Documentation Expertise: Capable of writing and critically reviewing technical documents.
- Independent and Strategic: Self-motivated, with a proven ability to engage stakeholders, analyze user stories, and independently plan and execute tests.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with SPLUNK for system monitoring and log analysis.
- Knowledge of SharePoint for documentation and collaboration.
- Linux operating system proficiency.
- Automation testing experience using UFT.
- Familiarity with the railroad industry and its unique software testing requirements.
Educational Qualifications
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Considered: Equivalent professional experience in relevant domains.
